We are investigating the effects of nitrogen (coffe grinds) and phosphorus (baking soda) on the growth of grass. Please post the following: 1. Identify as many of the control variables (things which remain the same) as you can remember. 2. Identify the the two independent variables (What we are changing). 3. Identify the dependent variable (what are we measuring and observing a change in?). | 4. State your hypothesis based on your background research on plant nutrients. Include: If_______________________ then_____________________ because__________________. |

1. One thing that remains the same is soil. The type of plant it is always stays the same.

The control variables are : potting soil the same kind of amount, equal water, sunlight, grass seeds, location, and sock (panty hoe) The independants are : coffee grinds and baking soda. The dependants are the growth of the grass. Hypothesis : If we add nitrogen to the soil Then the plants will grow stronger and healthier Because nitrogen is needed to build strong plants.

Whoops.Sorry.Forgot to add the hypothesis.Hypothesis:If the baking soda or coffee grinds are successful then we will have a beautiful Soil Sammy because we will be happy with our results.

The control variables are: Same amount of potting soil, equal amount of water, sun, grass seeds, where the location is, and the panty hoe (sock). The two independent variables are the coffee grinds and the baking soda. The dependent variable is the growth of the grass (seeds). And the hypothesis is: If we add phosphorus (the baking soda) to the soil, Then the stem will build strong and the leaves will be turning more green Because phosphorus supports photosynthesis.

The control is Water, sun, oxygen, seeds, and coffee grinds or baking soda. The independant is the way the grass will grow.My hypothesis is IF nitrogen is the builder of the plant it will possibly grow the highest.THEN if the phosphourous helps with photosynthesis that could be another possibilaty. BECAUSE photosynthesis is the prossces of chemichal energy and light energy colliding, that helps plants grow. But i personally think nitrogen will grow the highest.

The controlled variables are amount of soil, sun, grass seeds, and location. The independent variables are coffee beans (nitrogen) and baking soda (phosphorous). The dependent variable is potting soil. We are observing if nitrogen in potting soil, phosphorous in potting soil, or plain potting soil will grow healthier grass. If we put baking soda in the soil I think the grass will be healthier. Then our grass will be greener and disease resistant because phosphorous is in baking soda.

The plants need sunlight, water, and soil for the plant to grow.I think that the plant that the plant without anything in it is going to grow faster.I think that because it has water in it that it has know problem growing. The other two has other things in it that will make problems with the plant. It has more things in it.Like mine has not grown I have baking soda.THANK YOU ;)

Soil Sammy is when you need dirt and a stocking also some baking soda. You can use coffee bean. You don't have to use anything. Then you jet some thing like a baby jar and then put water in the jar and I think baking soda will grow better.

Soil Sammy is a type of a little critter that looks a lot like: a sock puppet in a can. You can add as many eyes as you want. Then you can add any type of mouth you want. You must add grass for hair. Then you must add a nose.

The variables are: the amount of soil, sun, seeds, and location. We change the growth of the plant by using the baking soda, because the baking soda may have a positive or negative effect on the grass. It changes as it grows. If the baking soda helps it grow faster, then my hypothesis was wrong. Because the baking soda isn't doing so well, i think I may be right.

I think nitrogen would work because it helps grow with all the nutrients for the soil so thats why I think nitrogen would work. Also because it helps so many plants grow. Then, I thought it would work but some kids didn't think the same thing I did. Then I saw a little piece of grass pop out from the nitrogen. Now we know that nitrogen is the best to plant in the soil.
